• 3 day schedule (G/90+30 all rounds): Rd 1 10/23 @6:00pm; Rd 2 10/24 @10:00am; Rd 3 10/24 @4:00pm; 

10/25 @10:00am; Rd 5 10/25 @4:00pm

 

• 2 day schedule (Rounds 1 and 2 G/65;d5, then G/90+30): Rd 1 10/24 @10:00am; Rd 2 10/24 @1:00pm. Merge with 3 day after round 2

 

Prizes

NEW:  $1250 Prize Fund Guaranteed + $750 Prize Fund for Finalists on Nov. 6-8th 

Championship Section

1st Prize: $500 +Trophy

2nd Prize: $250

Top U2000: $200

 

Reserve Section

1st Prize: $200

Top U1600: $100

Registration: $65 until Oct. 10th, $85 after Oct. 10th and onwards

Byes: Maximum 2 half point bye, must be requested before the start of round 2 if playing in the 3-day schedule, or round 1 for the 2-day schedule

Tiebreaks: To be announced on the Silver State Chess website (silverstatechess.org) 

*Boards and Clocks will be provided, though players may bring their own 

 

Finals Information

The three top scorers will play the top three scorers from Northern Nevada in an online tournament  on November 6-8, 2026 for a Round Robin Tournament for the title of State Champion. Details TBA. The three top scorers U1600 will also play the top three scorers in the U1600 category from Northern Nevada in an online tournament on November 6-8, 2026 for a Round Robin Tournament for the title of NV Reserve Champion 

NEW: Residents outside of Nevada are eligible to participate in this tournament for the first time.

**Qualifications for the finals in the Southern Nevada State Championship are still only available for residents living in the following counties: Clark, Lincoln, Nye, and Esmeralda.
