$160 per Team, by midnight (Central), February 19

$180 per Team, after February 19

$50 Entry fee for players without a team.  If there are not enough individual players to form a team, entry fee will be refunded.  Refunds for teams and individuals who are placed on teams, are subject to a $5 per player fee.  No refunds after noon (Central Time), February 25.

FINAL STANDINGS AND DETERMINATION OF PRIZES ARE SUBJECT TO FAIR PLAY REVIEWS.  THEREFORE, OFFICIAL STANDINGS AND PRIZE LIST MAY TAKE UP TO THREE WEEKS AFTER THE EVENT.

 

FORMAT

Fixed Roster 6SS; G/60 + 10-second increment.  No alternates.  Higher of Regular US Chess rating or Online US Chess rating used.  Games will be played on ICC and connection via Zoom video required.  Rating order of players in a team will determine board order.  In case two or more players in a team have the same rating, team will designate the board order for those players.  Once determined, that order remains for the entire event.  Unrated players may be assigned to play in any Board.  But, for team purposes, they will be assigned a rating as follows:  If team assigns unrated player to Board 1, players will be assigned a rating 50 points higher than player on Board 2.  If unrated player is assigned to Board 2 or 3, player will be assigned a rating right in the middle of the Board above and the Board below.  And, if unrated player is assigned to Board 4, player will be assigned a rating 50 points lower than player on Board 3.  Difference of rating between players on Board 3 and 4 must be less than 1000 points.  In case of team ties for any prize, U.S. Amateur Team Tie-Break System will be used.

REGISTRATION FOR INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS WITHOUT A TEAM NOW AVAILABLE!

Individual players without a team can now register.  The organizer will put them on a team and notify the individuals as we get closer to the event.  

 

Unrated players who have a have a FIDE or CFC rating will be assigned a rating based in accordance with Section 2.7 of the US Chess Rating System.

ONLINE FAIRPLAY POLICY

  • By registering, all players agree not to use outside assistance or any kind.
  • Players may not listen to music, wear headphones, or have another electronic device near them while playing.
  • All players must be in the tournament Zoom meeting using their player-facing webcam and using their real name while their games are in progress.
    • Players must always have the video enabled in the Zoom meeting while they are playing.
    • Players must agree to Zoom requests by tournament staff, including turning on audio, giving a scan of the area around player, adjusting the camera angle, etc.
  • All games will be reviewed by ICC and tournament staff during and after the event.
  • Players found or believed to be using outside assistance of any kind will:
    • Be removed from the tournament even if ICC does not close the player's account.
    • Cause their team to be removed from the tournament.
    • Not be eligible for prizes.
    • Not receive a refund for the entry fee.
    • Have the tournament results and standing adjusted, accordingly,
  • All Fairplay adjustments made by tournament staff are final and are not appealable.
