Format:

4 Round Swiss; G/60d5, $30 Entry Fee by 11:59pm on 4/19/24

  • $40 Entry Fee after 11:59pm on 4/19/24
    • FIDE titled players and USCF National Masters may get free entry before 4/19. Email king@abqchessclub.org to get free registration. (Entry fee will be deducted from prize money)
  • Three sections: Championship (1200+), u1400, u700. All sections are USCF Rated
  • Live ratings will be used for pairings and prizes
  • Accelerated pairings may be used if more than 24 players register in a section

Prizes:

  • Championship (1200+): 1st - $200, 2nd - $100, u1700 - $60
  • U1400: 1st - $140, 2nd - $80, u1000 - $40
  • U700: 1st - $120, 2nd - $60

Schedule:

  • Round 1: 10am
  • Round 2: 12:30pm
  • Round 3: 3:30pm
  • Round 4: 6pm
  • On-site Registration from 9am-9:30am, Saturday, April 20th

Registration:

  • USCF Membership required for all sections. To get a USCF membership, go to https:new.uschess.org/join-us-chess or contact king@abqchessclub.org for help
  • Online Registration is open until 9am on Saturday, April 20th
  • On-site Registration closes 30 minutes prior to Round 1. Players registering after this time or registering without a valid USCF ID may receive a zero-point bye for Round 1.

 

Special Notes:

 

Byes: Up to 2 optional half-point byes may be requested BEFORE round 1. All byes requested during the event are zero points.

 

Unrated players: Unrated players may play in u700 or u1400 sections and are eligible for half the prize amounts awarded. Unrated players are not eligible for class prizes (under prizes).

 

Spectators: No spectators are allowed in playing areas when the games have begun for the day. A designated spectator area will be available.

 

Electronic Devices: Electronic devices are not allowed on any player’s person during their matches. This includes smart phones, smart watches, and other devices that may connect to the Internet. Failure to follow this rule will result in forfeiture of your match. ChessNoteR6 and ChessNoteR9 are allowed for electronic notation.
