PARKING
In between Olmsted and Glenwood there is a small street “school street." Park in the big parking structure.
You may also park on Glenwood … (only a few parking slots)
TOURNAMENT ENTRANCE
Once you park in the big parking structure, walk straight ahead across the campus. You will see stairs, go up the stairs and you will see the tournament location ahead toward the left.
Another entrance, usually for drop offs, from the front right by the Hoover high sign.

**Waiting area will be small gym across from cafeteria (rain forecast!)
You may bring your own chairs!
Remember your chess clocks if you have them!
Sections: K-6 Rookies (nonrated), K-1 Under 200, K-4 Under 500, K-7 Under 700, K-9 Under 900, K-12 OPEN
NOTES:
***In the event of low turnout in the K-1 U200 section, it will be merged with the K-4 U500. Prizes will still be awarded!
*The K-12 Open is the most difficult section! New players should NOT start here.
*The K-6 Rookies is NOT rated by US Chess, this means you will not receive a rating.
If you want to receive a rating, play one of the rated sections!
February official ratings list will be used.
Trophies: Awarded to at least Top 7 players in each section!!! (Top 5 for K-1 U200)
Best Sportsmanship trophies will also be awarded in this event
All Sections: 5-SS (Swiss System: everyone plays 5 games against players with approximately the same number of wins and losses after each round),
G/25 d5 (Timers may be used which limit the total game time for each player to 25 minutes with a 5 second delay)
There is no elimination! Your child will play all five games. (Unless you request a "bye")
This is an all day event. Expect to be there for all five rounds.
It is recommended to arrive by 9:30 am to ensure plenty of time for parking, checking the entry list and pairings, getting situated to play, and so on. The first round will begin at 10 am.
LET US KNOW IF YOUR CHILD NEEDS TO MISS A ROUND! Up to two half-point byes available.
Please do not simply fail to show up.

$60 standard rate until 1/31
$75 late entry online until 2/3 or onsite on 2/4 (8:45-9:15 am)
