Omaha City Championship 2024:

 

Date:             March 30th, 2024

Location:      CPACs Building, 132 & 132D, University of Nebraska Omaha

Entry Fee:    $30 payable onsite from 8 am to 8:45. $10 entry fee for the U800 and U400 sections. The entry fee is waived if student or faculty at UNO.

Sections/Round Times/Time Control:

5 distinct sections: Open, U1600, U1200, U800, U400.

  • Open – 50 minutes delay 10 seconds
    • R1: 9am or shortly after registration
    • R2: 11:15
    • Lunch Break
    • R3: 2:30
    • R4: 4:45
  • U1200 -- 30 minutes delay 5 seconds
    • R1: 9am or shortly after registration
    • R2: 10:15
    • Lunch Break
    • R3: 12:45
    • R4: 2:00
  • U800/U400
    • 5 rounds
    • Round times and lunch break announced at the tournament.
    • Clocks are not necessary, but please bring boards

 

Additional Information:

Boards and clocks must be provided by the players themselves. Scoresheets will be provided to the Open and U1600 sections. These sections must turn in a copy of their scoresheets.

The winner of the Open section will be considered the Omaha City Champion for 2024. The Open section is a player of the year (POY) event. This means that the scores of the Open section participants will be counted toward qualifying for the Closed State Championship.

Prizes:

Prizes increase as the number of participants increase. The guaranteed prizes will be paid out even if the number of participants is low.

The U800 and U400 sections will be awarded medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The following tiebreakers will be used in the order listed below.

  1. Common Game
  2. Solkoff
  3. Modified Median
  4. Cumulative
