UNO November Quads 2023 Chess Tournament:

 

Date:             November 11th, 2023

Location:      CPACs Building, University of Nebraska Omaha

Entry Fee:    $30 payable onsite from 8:30 am to 9:00. $10 entry fee for the U800 and U400 sections. The entry fee is waived if student or faculty at UNO.

Sections/Round Times/Time Control:

The Open, U1600, and U1200 sections will be combined into one big group and then split into Quads. A Quad is a 3-game round-robin amongst similarly rated opponents.

• Open/U1600/U1200 – 60 minutes increment 10 seconds
  • R1: 9am or shortly after registration
  • Lunch Break
  • R2: 12:15
  • R3: 2:30
• U800/U400
  • 4 or 5 rounds
  • Round times announced at the tournament. Lunch break will be announced at the tournament.
  • Clocks are not necessary, but please bring boards

 

Additional Information:

Boards and clocks must be provided by the players themselves. Scoresheets will be provided. Everyone is encouraged to turn in a copy of their scoresheet.

 

Prizes:

The winner of each quad will get $60.

 

The U800 and U400 sections will be awarded medals for 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd. The following tiebreakers will be used in the order listed below.

1. Common Game
2. Solkoff
3. Modified Median
4. Cumulative
