A new side event added to the Coastal Virginia Open!  Take on special guest Grandmaster Timur Gareyev in a simultaneous blitz exhibition!  Timur holds the Guiness World Record for most simultaneous games played blindfolded (48!) -- and he had over an 80% win rate!    

Timur will play 10 boards at a time with 5 minutes on the player's clock and 10 minutes on his clock to allow extra time for rotation between boards.  As each player finishes, another will take their place for a continuous flow of games.  This event is limited to the first 50 players to register.    

The blitz simul will take place well into Round 1 of the main tournament, beginning at 12:30 PM (Round 1 starts at 10 AM, and Round 2 starts at 2 PM).  If we don't get through all the registered players in that time slot, we will continue at 5:00 PM (Round 3 starts at 6:30 PM).  

One game is $25.  We will have volunteers on site to take photos with your phone (or ours if you don't have one) to remember the event!

Two games for $35.  

Limit two games per player.

You do not need to be entered in the main event to participate in this side event.
