We have relocated all our Chess Cardinals games to Chesterfield Mall, starting 02/06/2023. All details are available at Chess Cardinals

We invite everyone to our Chesterfield SUNDAY SWISS75 tournament! USCF rated. Minimum rating requirement is 700 (Peak within last one year). Please bring your own sets and clocks, as supplies are limited. Notation is mandatory.

Format: 2 sections: OPEN Section (restricted to above 700 USCF), and U1100 Section (restricted to above 700 USCF); 3 rounds, Swiss style. One 1/2-point bye permitted for any round if declared prior to round 1. TD reserves the right to adjust section break or provide wild-card entry. 

 

Time control: OPEN SECTION (G/75; d5) and U1100 SECTION (G/45; d5). Note the difference in time-controls. 

Schedule: Registration for both sections from 9:15-9:50 AM. 

  • OPEN SECTION (Rounds 10AM, 1PM, 3rd round as soon as possible)
  • U1100 SECTION (10AM-Round 1 and subsequent rounds ASAP)

Entry Fees: Open - $20, U1100 - $10. On-site registration is an extra $5.

Prizes: 

  • Open SECTION: First Place $75 and Second Prize $25 (Based on 20 entries total).
  • U1100 SECTION: There are trophies for 1st and 2nd place. Trophy ties are broken using Modified Median, Solkoff, Cumulative, and Cumulative of Opposition. If tied players in U1100 have perfect scores, ties will be broken using a blitz playoff.

Directions: We recommend parking in the front of the Cheesecake Factory and coming to the ground floor using the elevator or escalator. We are located past the last Pickleball Court, on the left side. You will see a vertical Chess Cardinals Banner on the window. Restrooms are located on the ground floor near the Aaha Indian Restaurant.
