*2024 Spring Scholastic Chess Championships*

 

 

When: Sunday May 5, 2024

 

**LOCATION & PARKING INFO**

Two entrances. One from the parking lot
Once you park, walk straight ahead. You will see stairs, go up the stairs and you will see the tournament location

Another entrance, usually for drop offs, from the front right by the Hoover high sign.

PARKING
In between Olmsted and Glenwood there is a small street “school street." 
PARK in the big parking structure
You may also park on Glenwood … (only a few parking slots)

Remember your chess clocks if you have one!

                                                                                            

 

Sections:  K-5 Unrated (nonrated), K-2 Under 300K-5 Under 500K-8 Under 800K-12 Under1100, K-12 OPEN

*NOTES: the K-12 Open is the most difficult section! New players should NOT start here.

 *The K-5 Unrated is NOT rated by US Chess, this means you will not receive a rating. 

If you want to receive a rating, play one of the rated sections! 

 

May official ratings list will be used.

 

Trophies: Awarded to atleast Top 5 players in each section!!!

Best Sportsmanship trophies also will be awarded in this event

Additional category prizes in all sections.

 

All Sections: 5-SS (Swiss System: everyone plays 5 games against players with approximately the same number of wins and losses after each round), G/25 d5 (Timers may be used which limit the total game time for each player to 25 minutes with a 5 second delay)

 

 

Entry Fees

$60 early bird by 04/05

$70 standard rate by 04/19

$80 late entry by 5/4

$85 ONSITE entry (8:45-9:15 am)

***New players to the US Chess Federation or those whose memberships have expired, log into Join US Chess | US Chess.org, and create/renew your ID. Be sure to pay the $20 fee!

Must have USCF ID and active membership to join tournament.

(Except for K-6 Unrated section)
