$3,200 Houston Chess Studio Spring Championship, April 23-24

$1,000 First Place Guaranteed. A USCF Grand Prix event.  30 Grand Prix points available. Grand Masters may enter FREE, entry fee will be deducted from any winnings.

A 5 round Swiss, G/90, +30, in two sections: Championship (Open) and Challengers (U1600). $3,200 prize fund.  $1,000 First Place Prize Guaranteed. Remaining $2,200 prize fund based on 50 total paid entries in both sections combined.

Only one 1/2 point bye available and it must be declared before the beginning of round 2!

Early Entry Fee $115 through April 8th. Regular Entry $135 through April 20th. Late Entry thereafter $150.  $25 additional for "playing up" (available to players rated below 1600 who want to play in the Championship section). CLUB MEMBERS REMEMBER TO USE YOUR DISCOUNT COUPONS!

Championship Section (Open) $2,000 Prize Fund - Open to all, HOWEVER, those rated under 1600, and unrateds, must pay the additional $25 "play up" fee.  1st Place pays $1,000, guaranteed. 2nd pays $600, 3rd pays $400, based on 50 total paid entries in both sections combined.

Challengers Section (U1600) $1,200 Prize Fund - open to all rated below 1600, including unrateds. 1st pays $600, 2nd pays $400, 3rd pays $200, based on 50 total paid entries in both sections combined.

Rounds at 9am, 2pm, 7pm Saturday. 10am, 3pm Sunday.
