TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS SO NM/W TEXAS QUALIFER
23-24 AUGUST 2025
Location: Sunland Park Sports Complex 4700 McNutt Rd., Santa Teresa NM 88008
Format: Five-Round Swiss-System two-day Tournament. Two sections: New Mexico for New Mexican Players and Texas for West Texas Players. Please choose the correct section when entering. This tournament is USChess rated and all participants must be current members of USChess. The Top 3 finishers from each of these two sections qualify to advance to the Southern New Mexico vs West Texas Tournament of Champions (TOC) scheduled for the following week (30 August) at the same location. Prizes to the top three in terms of advancement to the TOC. Each section limited to 32 players from each state.

TIME CONTROL: G/45+10
CASH PRIZES: Three qualifiers from New Mexico move on to TOC to compete against three qualifiers from West Texas. Cash prizes for the TOC Final are 1st - $300, 2nd = $200, 3rd = $100. Prizes may be adjusted based upon the number of entries. TOC Final will be a six-player round-robin with same time controls and round schedule as qualifiers.
ENTRY FEE: $40. $50 for walk-ins at site. Registration closes ½ hour before start of first round.
