Location:   American Legion Post #370, 7500 West 75th Street, Overland Park, KS 

 

Format:  Four Round Swiss System 4SS, with cross round pairings to avoid byes

Game in 30 Minutes with 10 Second Delay G/30;d10

Prizes for Cash Prize Sections: ​ 4 Points $2003.5 Points $1003 Points $502.5 Points $25

Entry Fee - Cash Prize Sections:  $45 – (Late or on-site registration $55)

Entry Fee - UnRated Section:  FREE - note there are no cash prizes for UnRated

Schedule: Regular Registration Ends Friday June 16th, 9 PM

Round Times:

1rst Round Early Arrivals: 9 am     

Late Registration and Day of Registration: 9:30 am to 9:55 am

1rst round Regular Start: 10 am

Lunch: 11:20 to 12 noon

2nd Round: 12 noon       

3rd Round:  1:45 pm 

4th: 3:30 pm or ASAP       

                                   

Medal Prize Sections:   

UnRated:      4SS G/30;d10,  

UnRated Section limited to 8 players.

 

Cash Prize Sections:

Black Belts; 2000 to 1600:   4SS G/30;d10,   

Brown and Purple Belts; 1600 to 1200:  4SS G/30;d10,  

Green and Blue Belts; 1200 to 0800:     4SS G/30;d10,  

Orange, Yellow White Belts; 0800 to 0100:   4SS G/30;d10,  

Play up Fee $15, playing up limited to 200 points

 

Two few Players and Odd number of Players

All Players will be able to play four games, unless section has too few players.

In the event of a section having an odd number of players, cross round pairing will occur.

 

Too Few Players Rules: 

1 player -> Automatic award of 4 Point Prize. (You must show up to win money via too few players points)

2 Players -> Two games will be played, each player plays white once and black once. 

Both players are awarded two additional points for the two unplayable games.

3 Players -> All players play 2 games against the 2 other players, once as white and once as black

 

No Spectators -- Under Age Players must be Supervised.

There will be no spectators. Players may spectate while playing and immediately following the completion of their game. Once a player exits the tournament space they may not return until their next game.

 

Any player under the age of 14 must be accompanied by one parent or chess coach who will be responsible for the players conduct. 

Any player under the age of 16 must have parent or chess coach present or provide contact information.

This is the only exception to the no spectator rule and only one parent or chess coach is allowed per underage player.
