Description: October rated Quads! What is a quad? A quad is a group of 4 people, all playing one round against each other in a round-robin event. These are grouped in similar rating brackets.
Location: Publix, Community Room @ 10250 Staples Mill Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23060. The Community Room is upstairs once you enter Publix. Notice: In order to support Publix hosting this event, outside food is not permitted. Please support your local Publix instead and buy food onsite!
Dates: October 18 (Mark your calendars for our next tournament on November 15!)
Format: This event will be a 3-round Quad, G/60 D10, Regular rated event, 3 rounds. Round 1: 10:00am, Round 2: 12:30pm, Round 3: 2:30pm. ***ROUNDS CAN BE PAIRED EARLY IF ALL MEMBERS OF AN INDIVIDUAL QUAD ARE READY FOR NEXT ROUND!*** If there are non-multiples of 4’s, the bottom quad will be converted into a small (5-6 player) Swiss while still playing 3 rounds. USCF registration is mandatory to participate for prizes and must be done before registration.
Entry fee: $40 if pre-registered up to the night before the event.
On site entry fee: $50. Final registration closes at 9:30am to start the tournament on time.
Late entry fees are $60. The director must be notified at 801-347-9233.
Prizes for each quad:
1st: 80 (Entry x 2)
2nd: 40 (Entry fee back)
Byes: Byes in the Quads are not allowed. Withdrawing from the Quad format is STRONGLY DISCOURAGED, as this ruins the experience for the rest of the quad.
