TMS November Excellence is the second tournament of the 2026-27 school year tournament series!  There will be six tournaments in total, and a player's highest three scores will determine the section winners for the tournament series.  Players can choose to play in the entire series for a discounted price (44% off individual tournament pricing) or register for individual tournaments:

September 26th, 2026-The Meadows Invitational
November 7th, 2026-TMS November Excellence
December 12th, 2026-Chess Winter Classic
January 23th, 2027-New Year's Extravaganza
February 27th, 2027-Knight's Leap Ahead
April 17th, 2027-TMS Grand Finale

 

TMS November Excellence is an exciting four-round Swiss tournament with time control G/30;d5.  This tournament is open to all scholastic players with a USCF membership, as well as an unrated section available to any player looking to get into tournament chess (no USCF membership required for this section).  The two-rated sections are divided K-5th grade and 6th-12th grade.  We also have an unrated section for those interested in participating in tournament chess, that section will be K-7th grade.

 

Round times:

Round 1: 9:00 AM
Round 2: 10:10 AM
Round 3: 11:20 AM
Lunch Break
Round 4: 1:00 PM

Team Tournament:

We are adding a team component to this year's tournaments.  Schools are encouraged to create teams of 3-5 players within the same section.  A school's top three scores will count towards standings.  Schools can submit as many teams as they would like.

We will have 1st place awards in each section if we have up to 3 teams competing, 2nd place awards if 4-6 teams compete in that section and 3rd place awards for any section with more than 6 teams participating.

Pricing:

Please register at https://www.kingregistration.com/event/PursuingExcellence if choosing to sign up for all six tournaments of the series.  Best option (44% savings if playing all tournaments).  

Entire tournament series $200 plus processing fees.  All bundle registrants will receive a complementary tournament t-shirt.  You do not have to play all events to choose this option, but the more events you play, the greater the savings. 
Individual tournament: $60 plus processing fees.

 

All cell phones and electronics must be turned off during tournament play.  All byes for rounds 3 and 4 must be requested prior to the start of the tournament.
