Please join or renew the player’s membership at www.uschess.org before registering for the tournament.
Girls must reside in Nevada or be a full time student in grades K-12 at a Nevada school
and born after September 1, 2005.
K-12 Open Section (Open to all girls in grades K-12)
5 rounds
Time Control Game/25 minutes + 5 seconds
Round 1 begins at 9:30am
Individual and Team Trophies will be awarded
Players from the same school automatically form a team
All Players will receive a participation medal
The winner will represent Nevada at the annual Ruth Haring National Tournament of Girls State Champions on July 27-30 in Norfolk, VA. Nevada Chess will provide a stipend

If two or more players achieve a perfect score, the championship will be determined by a playoff. Such a playoff may be played either in person or online. If two or more players tie for first place with any score other than a perfect score, the placement of all tied players will be determined by tie-breaks as described in the Official Rules of Chess, 7th edition.
The top two scoring girls, born after June 9, 2009 and rated under 1800, will receive free entries to the International Youth Championship in Las Vegas June 8-9.

$40 before March 20
$55 before April 12
$70 before April 18 @ 11:59pm
$100 after April 18 @ 11:59pm
Lunch
A Pizza Lunch with snack and drinks is included for all players. Parents and spectators may purchase additional lunches at a cost of $13 each. After registering for the tournament, you may click here to order additional lunches.
Refunds:
Refunds must be requested prior to 11:59pm on April 19 and will have a processing fee of $10 withheld.
Byes
Maximum two half point byes are available upon request. All half-point byes must be requested by 8:30am on April 20. Half-point byes for Rounds 4 or later are irrevocable after 12:30pm on April 20. If any player is unable to play any round for any reason, including withdrawals, please notify a tournament director or score keeper.
Lodging
We have made arrangements with the Incline Lodge for discounted rates on a limited number of double queen rooms. Incline Lodge is within walking distance of the tournament.
