2022 NM Scholastic Blitz and Rapid State Championships

Format and Schedule:

• K-12, K-8, K-5, K-3, and K-1 Sections
  • Any section with less than 6 players registered may be merged with an adjacent section for pairings. Prizes will not be merged.
• $30 Entry Fee for Both Rapid and Blitz Championships or $20 Entry Fee for just one for the K-12, K-8, and K-5 sections.
• Free Entry Fee for Sections K-1 and K-3 sections.
• Rapid
  • 5 Round Swiss; G/10d5
  • Onsite Registration from 8:00-8:40am
  • Round 1 Begins at 9:00am. Subsequent rounds begin after the previous round finishes.
  • Prizes will be presented after the 5th round, around 12:30pm.
• Blitz
  • 5 Round Swiss; G/5d2
  • Onsite Registration from 1:00-1:40pm
  • Round 1 Begins at 2:00pm. Subsequent rounds begin after the previous round finishes.
  • Prizes will be presented after the 5th round, around 4:00pm.

Prizes:

• 1st Through 3rd Place Trophies in Each Section.
• Medals Presented for players finishing with a positive score of at least 3 out of 5.
• Top finishing NM Residents after tiebreaks in the K-12 sections will be crowned the 2022 New Mexico Scholastic Rapid Champion and 2022 New Mexico Scholastic Blitz Champion.
