RBO open to players rated U1200

4-SS(4 round Swiss system)

Time control: Both sections G/30; d5(Each player has 30 minutes to make their moves, with a five second delay before their clock starts running)

Rounds: Both sections: round 1 10:00 A.M., rounds 2-4 ASAP.

Location: MidAmerican RecPlex 6500 Grand Ave, West Des Moines, IA 50266

Registration: Online at https://www.kingregistration.com before 7/8, onsite from 9:15 A.M.-9:50 A.M.

US Chess Federation(USCF) membership required. On-Site available.

Entry fee(EF):  RBO: $20 before 7/1, $25 after. Open: $20 before 7/1, $30 after. Players rated under 1100 may play in the open section for a $10 play-up fee.

Prizes:

  • Open: $192 b/16- $96 1st, $56 2nd, $40 3rd. Otherwise, 30% EF 1st, 17.5% EF 2nd, 12.5% EF 3rd
  • RBO: Trophies to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, top U1000, top U800, top U600, top U400, top U200, top unrated.

Byes: One half-point bye per player. Last-round byes must be requested before the 1st round to get a half-point. Byes for all other rounds must be requested 15 minutes prior to the start of the round.

Additional information: USCF ratings used for pairings and for prizes. Higher of regular or quick ratings used for pairings. USCF Swiss pairing rules and floor decisions. NO ELECTRONIC SCORESHEETS! No spectators allowed in the playing hall 15 minutes after the start of the round. Players may spectate after their game is over. Spectator rules are subject to change.
