Summary: USCF Rated Classical Chess at the Chicago Chess Center (CCC). One game, played every Monday. Allowed up to two half-point byes. You can also register for an individual week, if you can only play one game.

Equipment: Chess sets and clocks are provided by the CCC.

Location: 166 W Washington St, Chicago, IL 60602, Unit # 600

Sections:

• Open Section: 1600+, 1500+ can play up.
• U1600 Section: 1599-1000
• U1000 Section: 999-0

Format:

• Five rounds (one per week) of G/90, inc/30.
• Pairings will be designed to minimize rating difference between opponents (Monrad Swiss)
• We reserve the right to use the live rating instead of the supplement.

Schedule: Five rounds, one round per week, every Monday (12/01-12/29) at 6:15 PM. Check-in deadline is 6:10pm. Any players not checked in before then will receive a bye for that round.

Registration: Free, CCC and USCF membership required. You can also register for just one week, if desired.

Prizes: For 1st place per section: Trophy or free entry to one future CCC tournament. All children who score 50% or higher will receive a medal!

 

Transportation: NEW LOCATION: We are less than a block away from the Brown, Orange, Pink, and Purple L line stop at Washington/Wells, as well as the Clark/Lake stop. We are also right across from the Washington & Lasalle CTA bus stop. Find navigation to 166 W Washington St, Chicago, IL 60602, Unit # 600.
