The 2026 Madison Cup!

Saturday November 7th

Location Madison East High School 2222 E Washington Ave, Madison, WI 53704 
Supervision Players in K-8th grade MUST have adult supervision at all times.
Equipment All Boards, Pieces, Notation Sheets, and Pens/Pencils will be provided by Growth Chess. Some Chess Clocks will provided as needed. 
Please bring your own chess clock if you have one. 
 
*All Students will receive US Chess Membership Voucher as apart of the entry fee* ($24 value)
**So all students will receive a US Chess rating after the event**

4 SECTIONS - Scholastic Only
K-5 U500: 5 Rounds (Perfect for Elementary Student's First Tournament)
K-8 U800: 5 Rounds (Perfect for Middle School Student's First Tournament)
7-12 U1000: 5 Rounds (Perfect for High School Student's First Tournament)
K-12 Open: 4 Rounds (Experienced Tournament Players)

K-12 Rated: G/45 
All sections 5 second delay 

Byes Limit one half-point bye. Additional byes are OK but are zero points. Final round byes are zero points unless requested before the first round.

K-5 U500
Top 3 Teams.  Top 5 Individuals. Participation Awards to all. 
K8, 7-12, K-12 Open Sections
Top 3 Teams  Top 5 Individuals
Medals to those with a plus score (3+ in K-8 U800 & 7-12 U1000, and 2.5+ in K-12 Open)

The Madison Cup is a traveling cup trophy awarded to the highest finishing Dane County High School.
Madison High School Students playing in the Open Section will have their points multiplied by 1.5 for Madison Cup Standings.

ENTRY FEE 
$35 by 11/1, $40 by 11/1, $50 after 11/5. Registration will close at 9:15am 11/7.

Refund Policy:

More than 24 hours before Round 1:
Refund minus $5 administrative fee or one-time transfer to a comparable tournament within 3 months.

Less than 24 hours before Round 1:
50% refund or one-time transfer to a comparable tournament within 3 months.

After Round 1 begins:
Entry fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred.
