Notes:

This is the official page for this event.  If there are any changes made, they will be made here.
The Lucena Open is in reference to the Lucena Position in chess.  The key strategy to achieving success in this position is referred to as "building a bridge", hence the name of this event.  Let us seek to build bridges in 2023 and come together.
We will follow current COVID-19 procedures as required locally.

Please reach out if you have any signup questions. The registration process will be more streamlined if you have an existing PayPal account.  Make sure you have received a confirmation email after signing up.

Please note that Gift Cards will be issued out in these sections, and not cash prizes due to certain regulations.  Admittedly, this is a new concept and open to feedback for suggestions in the future.

If you qualify for more than one section, you may choose the one you would rather play in. The Not Rated sections will not be rated, no US Chess Membership is required, and will be open to all.
