Prizes: In 5 sections. $$1060 based on 100 entries. Open: Trophies and $100-75-50, top Class C $40, top Class D $30. Under 1200: Trophies and $100-75-50, U1000 $40-20. U800: $75-50-25, U600 $15 Trophies to Top 5 overall and Top 3 U600. U400: $75-50-25, U200 $15, Trophies to Top 5 overall and Top 3 U200. Leap into Rated: Only for players in their very first rated event. $75-50-25, Trophies to Top 5 overall. Special prizes for Top Female, Longest Leap (most moves in a game), Biggest Leap (biggest upset), other special prizes at discretion of organizers. No school team competition, individual only. Unrated may play in any section, not eligible for “Under” prizes.
Format: Open and U1200 4SS G/60; d5. U800, U400, Leap into Rated G/45; d5 4SS or 5SS based on entries – number of rounds announced by 9 AM on site. No “Rookie” (non-rated) sections. All players must be US Chess members. February supplement used for section eligibility and pairings. Playing up allowed. Schedule: Check-in opens at 8 AM. If you register and pay online, you will be paired (do not need to check in). Cut-off to play in Round 1 for on-site registration is 9 AM. On-site registration not guaranteed if facility reaches max capacity with advance registration. First round for all sections starts at 9:30 AM. Subsequent rounds are on an “as ready” basis – as each section finishes, the next round will begin as soon as pairings are ready. Players should not leave the site and risk missing a round start. Latest finish time for Open and U1200 is est. 6:30 PM. Latest finish time for U800, U400, and Leap into Rated is est. 4:30 PM for 4 rounds or 6:00 PM for 5 rounds. Awards presented immediately following the conclusion of each section. Single half point bye allowed. Must commit before round 3.
Entry Fees: Open and U1200 $29 online by 7 PM EST February 28th (advance registration closes at that time). $30 on site. U800, U400, Leap into Rated $15 online by 7 PM EST February 28th (advance registration closes at that time). $15 on site. Note that the facility is subject to maximum caps, and on-site entry is not guaranteed. No re-entry in any section. Advance entries pay online. On-site cash, checks, and card swipe available. Note that late penalties have been waived.

Notes: Free parking. Concessions available on site. Fast food nearby. Time to leave site between rounds not guaranteed – plan to eat on site. US Chess-approved Electronic Notation Devices are allowed. Personal scorebooks are allowed. Notation required in U800 and up. Strongly encouraged in U400 and Leap Into Rated (Organizer waives notation requirement for new players). Boards and sets provided. Many clocks available, but players are encouraged to bring their personal clock. Scoresheets provided. Players must provide their own pens / pencils. Potentially limited seating in Skittles. Bring camp chairs.
Advance Registration for this event is closed. On site registrations will be taken between 8 and 9 AM Saturday morning.
