Day & Knight June Open – FREE USCF Rated Tournament

Join us for the Day & Knight June Open at Crossroads Chapel, a FREE USCF-rated tournament designed to help players gain experience and prepare for the upcoming Pacific Southwest Open (July 3–5, 2026).

Entry: FREE for all participants

Capacity: Limited to 100 players

Attendance Policy: Because this is a FREE event with limited capacity, players must be checked in at least 15 minutes before Round 1. Players not present by cutoff may be removed from pairings to reduce no-shows.

This event serves as preparation for the Pacific Southwest Open (July 3–5, 2026) — a 6-round tournament featuring FIDE-rated sections and a $15,000 prize fund (based on entries).

Format & Schedule

All sections are USCF Rated.

Open Section Check-In

8:00 AM – 8:45 AM
(Players must arrive by 8:45 AM)

U1400, U1000 & U600 Check-In

9:45 AM – 10:30 AM
(Players must arrive by 10:30 AM)

Players not checked in by cutoff risk removal from Round 1 pairings.


Open Section (G/60 + 5)

Round 1: 9:00 AM

Pizza Break: 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Round 2: 12:00 PM

Round 3: 2:30 PM

Estimated Finish: ~5:00 PM


U1400, U1000 & U600 (G/40 + 5)

If unrated, register in U600.

Round 1: 10:45 AM

Pizza Break: 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Round 2: 12:00 PM

Round 3: 1:35 PM

Round 4: 3:10 PM

Estimated Finish: ~4:45–5:00 PM

Trophies: Top 3 in each section

Gift Raffle: All participants entered

USCF Membership: Required for all players

Players should come prepared with their own:

  • Board & pieces (recommended)
  • Clock (recommended)
  • Notation sheets
  • Pencil or pen

Limited supplies may be available but are not guaranteed.

Food: Free pizza provided during break


Pairings

Swiss pairings used for all sections.

Pairings will be posted online and onsite. Players should verify pairings before each round.
