Simul with FIDE World Champion GM Alexander Shabolov!

Summary: FIDE World senior champion and four-time US chess champion GM Alexander Shabalov is back at the Chicago Chess Center! All competitors will get to play the Grandmaster in this event!

GM Alexander Shabalov will give a free 45-minute lecture prior to the simul at 5pm. Simul starts at 6pm. All games not finished by 8pm will get a computer evaluation to determine the game results/prizes.

Complimentary refreshments and pastries provided!

 

Location:

      Chicago Chess Center, 166 W Washington St, Unit 600, Chicago, IL 60602.

 

Format:

       simultaneous exhibition (simul). 

 

Schedule: Thursday, March 26th.

45 minute lecture starts at 5pm. (Free, no registration required).

Simul starts at 6pm and ends at 8pm. All games not finished by 8pm will get a computer evaluation to determine the game results. 

 

Prizes:

        All players who win against GM Alexander Shabalov will receive either A free entry to a CCC tournament of their choice OR

A trophy. Players who draw the GM receive a medal.

        $40 early entry by 03/12/2026, $50 after that. Low-income Affordability: If you are unable to afford the entry fee, please contact us at info@chichess.org.

        This event is unrated, if you do not have a USCF ID, no worries! just enter 0 in the ID section at registration.

        Conveniently located within 10 minutes of multiple L stations (Washington and Wells, Clark and Lake, Washington, and Lake),  Ogilvie, Union Station, and the Kennedy.

Parking:

        There is street parking, lots, and garages nearby.
