Club Championship

 

When: Saturday, June 4, 2022

What: 4 Round Swiss System, single section, Game 60 + 5 Second Increment. USCF Rated. Players must be over age 18 unless exception specifically granted.

 

Check-In 8:00 AM. Round 1 8:30, all other rounds ASAP (anticipated 11:00, 1:45, 4:15 but may start earlier or later). Lunch break will be declared after Round 2 ends.

 

Any players arriving to the board later than 5 minutes after Round 1 start may be immediately forfeited by the Tournament Director and withdrawn with re-entry allowed. Any player not present for start of subsequent round without notice to the director may be forfeited and withdrawn if more than 15 minutes late to the board. (Please contact TD if you will be late to the board, but try not to be late!) (Amends rule 13D.)

 

Entry Fees: Limited to 30 entries. Entry Fee $21. Pre-registration is required, no at-door entry allowed. No refunds will be issued on day of event or later.

 

Byes: A single half-point bye can be elected for rounds 1, 2, or 3. Must be declared before START of round 1. Final round bye zero point only.

Prizes: Trophy to 1st Overall, 1st Unrated Player, 1st Reserve (top player under the median of all ratings playing excluding Unrated). Unrated players are eligible only for Unrated and 1st Overall prize, not 1st Reserve. Tied scores will be declared as co-champions. Tiebreaks will be used to determine trophy winner, but other players with same score may purchase identical trophy at own cost (must notify TD immediately following tournament if purchasing).

Current United States Chess Federation membership valid through tournament date required at registration. (Most recent published rating at time of tournament will be used for pairing per standard USCF rules.) If under 18 years old parent please contact Darren Erickson at pontifex_dre@yahoo.com for entry qualifications. B/N Chess Club supports the Illinois Chess Association and encourages ICA membership, not required for entry.
