St. Cletus Catholic School presents a
Scholastic Chess Tournament
at St Cletus Parish Center
700 West 55th Street, LaGrange, Illinois 60525
Friday, April 12
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. -- please check-in by 6pm.
All K-8 chess players are invited:
4-rounds, non-elimination
(all players can play all rounds even if they lose a game).
Four Divisions: Grades K-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-8
Team and Individual Awards:
Trophies for Top THREE teams in each Division;
Trophies for Top FIVE players in each Division
(Must have at least two players to be considered a team, top FOUR scores count)
This is a great event for first-time tournament players, all equipment is provided,and ALL PLAYERS receive an award.
Players should either have no USCF rating or be rated under 600 to be eligible.
This tournament is not rated by US Chess but follows
USCF rules where practicable including tiebreaks.
$25.00 if registered by Wednesday, April 10th at 10pm
Registration after that $30.00
Includes food and drink for participants;
refreshments will be sold for non-participants.

All players will meet in Morrissey Hall located in the school. Enter through door 1 off the west-
end of the parking lot. Play will take place in the parish center – the building next to the school.
Covid rules: Masks will be optional. We ask parents to use judgment if child has fever or shows signs of illness.
Accompaniment: We ask that a parent or a designated responsible adult be present with your child.
Geography fun facts: LaGrange is about 10 miles west of Midway Airport
and about 8 miles southeast of Oakbrook Terrace
