4 round Swiss. G/90, d5. Sat. & Sun. Rounds at 10am and 2pm each day.
EF $100 thru Nov 25th, $120 thereafter. Prize Fund is $60 per entry, per Class, with the winner of each group getting 60% of that groups prize fund and 2nd place getting 40%.
Yes, lower rated groups could have higher prize funds than higher rated groups. It all depends on the number of players in each section.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you cancel and request a refund $15 will be deducted for processing fees, OR you may use the entire amount as a credit toward a future tournament entry fee. NO REFUNDS WITHIN 24 HOURS OF ROUND 1, but your entire payment can be credited towards a future entry fee.
Everyone is subject to being 'wanded' (electronically scanned) in order to help prevent cheating.

LOCATION: THE HOUSTON CHESS STUDIO Houston's only 'brick and mortar' chess club. Centrally and conveniently located at 250 Patton Street, Suite H, Houston TX 77009. Just inside North Loop 610 and only 2 blocks off North I-45. There are 3 restaurants in the same strip center as THE STUDIO; The Red Hot Noodle (Asian), Subway(sandwiches), and Patron Pizza. Several other restaurants are within walking distance. Plenty of parking and PARKING IS ALWAYS FREE!
