THE CHESS RIOT RETURNS FOR A FOURTH TIME with brand new twists and turns to help celebrate an afternoon of the game we love! Enjoy chess themed music and entertainment alongside a unique tournament like you’ve never experienced!

The event is FAMILY FRIENDLY and we encourage children to attend with their parents - we are prepared to accommodate both scholastic and all ages players!

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

6 rounds of chess with various rapid and blitz time controls including 25 minute, 15 minutes, 10 minute, 5 minute (blitz), and "Freestyle Chess."

2 Rounds of MUSICAL CHESS (Blundercheck’s chaotic creation – think musical chairs…)

CASH PRIZES and other awards!  Twists and strokes of luck will influence the outcome as well as classic chess skill!

Two Sections:  Beginner and Advanced.  Advanced competes for cash prizes ($50/$30) and Beginner section competes for Blundercheck merchandise (T-Shirts and CDs)

ONLY $15 to register for the tournament!  Parents/Spectators are FREE!  Games are NOT officially rated.

Benjamin Blundercheck & The Poisoned Pawn has released a full-length album of CHESS ROCK – 13 tunes all about the royal game, blending sound and strategy that will reinforce and entertain any chess player! The songs will be performed LIVE at this event!

PLEASE PRE-REGISTER!  There is a cap of 60 players.  If the cap has not been reached, we will accept walk-ups.  Reserve your spot NOW!

Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to check in!  Online entry ends at 10am, walkups are available up to 10:45.  Late arrivals will receive a 1/2 point bye for round 1, and begin playing in round 2.

If you are going to be late, you can choose to receive up to 2 byes, which means you will receive 1/2 point for rounds missed.  Please indicate this in registration if you know in advance.
