The Pasadena Public Library is hosting a chess event on Saturday, August 8th at 2 pm!
The event is FREE for players age 5-19!
The location is at La Pintoresca Branch 1255 N. Raymond Ave, Pasadena, CA 91103
Space is limited.
One Open Rated Section (K–12)
• Two Unrated Sections:
• Rising Stars (Grades K–5)
• Rookies (Grades 6–12)
Time control: 15 minutes
Chess notation is not required!
For the unrated sections, you might need to put a rating of 1 to register. Any number should work!
Players are expected to compete in all 3 rounds and possibly a 4th if time allows. It is NOT single elimination.
Each section will award a small trophy to the top finisher, medals to 2nd - 5th place players, and all participants will receive certificates of attendance, signed by Tim McDonald, Director of the Pasadena Public Library.
