Where: The Chicago Chess Center, 47 W. Polk St., Chicago Il.

Divisions: U-1200, U-1600, U-1800, U-2000 This event is for U-2000 Only.

Prizes and Amenities:

  • Trophies for 1-3rd place all sections.
  • Snacks and Refreshments will be provided during the event.
  • An “Open Lunch” will be included in your entry fee.
  • First place in each section will receive $100.00.
  • The first-place winner in each section will advance to the “Grand Championship” rounds!

Time Control: G25+5

Preliminary game times: 9:00a, 10:30a, 12:00p, 1:30p.

Preliminary awards ceremony: Approximately 3:15p.

Grand Championship rounds: 4:00p and 5:30p.

Final awards ceremony: 7-7:15p.

Grand Championship Structure: The U-1200 and U-1600 winners and the U-1800 and the U-2000 winners will face each other in the Semi Finals. Each of these winners receive $250.00 and the others will retain their $100.00 prize. Then, the 2 winners will play in the Finals. The Grand Champion will receive $500.00 and the Runner Up will retain their $250.00 prize.

Note: The Organizer and TD reserve the right to make changes depending on a variety of unanticipated circumstances. However, any player can request and receive a full refund before the start of the 1st round.

Prizes: $950.00 b/40 or more players. 50% of funds are guaranteed. All winners will receive their payments at the conclusion of the tournament by cash or check.
Player Capacity: To help ensure a comfortable environment- based on the extra space required for the food and snacks, a maximum of 60 players will be allowed to register for this tournament.

Byes: 1 or 2 (½ pt.) byes will be allowed.

Entry Fee: $50.00 until April 21 st . $60.00 from April 22nd until April 28th. (King Registration)

Tournament day registration: $75.00 8- 8:30 am only by check or cash only. No USCF renewal or membership assistance will be available- in order to keep things moving in a timely manner.
