2026 K-12 Conant HS Fall Opener

Equipment:

Chess sets and clocks are provided. Bring pencil/pen to take notation. 

Location:

Conant High School.
700 E. Cougar Trail, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169

Section & Format:

U1200, U1600, Open

Unrated players may only play in U1200. 

4 rounds of 55 minute 5 second delay (IHSA Time Format) 

Schedule:

Round 1 at 9am. Next round approx 15 minutes after last round has ended. 

Approx. time schedule: 

Round 1: 9am

Round 2: 11:30am 

Round 3: 2pm 

Round 4: 4:30pm 

Prizes:

Open: 100-75-50

U1600: 75-50-25

U1200: 50-25-15

***Prize fund may increase based on number of entries. Additional prize fund will be disclosed before the start of round #1. ***

Proceeds go directly to the Conant Chess Team.

Registration:

Entry restricted to K-12. 

If you are an IHSA Coach looking to register their players, please send me an email with your players name and their USCF ID. I can send you an invoice to bill your school. 

If you are a recent IHSA Alum, please email me with the name of the high school you graduated from. 

$25 dollars 

$5 to play up a section  

Registration closes on Friday August 28 @ 11:59pm. 

Max Capacity: 60 participants  

Parking & Entrance: 

Park in the parking lot directly in front of the school when making a right turn from Plum Grove into E. Cougar Trail. Enter through door 25. Walk straight until you see the cafeteria.
