Prizes and Info

Scholastic: Trophies for the top 3 winners of every section and Medals for the top 4-6 winners. One unique trophy for Top team. Every player will get a gift. 

Advanced: Trophy for top 3 + prize pool from 25% of entry fee

ADULTS MAY ENTER in the Advanced USCF section. Onsite Registration only if there is available spots.Only 120 seats available. First come first served. 

  • Scholastic: 5 rounds - Swiss System, Game- 25 min; delay 5 sec
  • Advanced: 4 rounds - 40; d5
  • Online Registration 25$ for Scholastic and 30$ for Advanced. Onsite Registration(If not Registered in advance):30$ for Scholastic, 35$ for Advanced and will only be available if there is open spots.
  • Arrive at 8:30am for announcements. First Round begins at 9am. 
  • Lunch will begin after 2 rounds (estimated to start at 12) 
  • There are plenty of dining options in the Student Center. 
  • Bring your own Chess set and Clocks

 

Plenty of seating in hallways. 

USCF membership is required. To obtain your USCF membership for the first time or to renew it, there is a special rate available for players in grades K-12, one year for $10, at http://chess.jliptrap.us/hgroup.htm

All but the fees from King registration will be refunded for withdraws until May 31st. 


Locations

Event will be at 4455 University Drive or "Student Center South", second floor in the "Multipurpose Room". 

Best parking is the 4434 University Drive Houston or "Welcome Center garage". 

Parking at the Welcome Center Garage is best, the rate will be 10$. We recommend carpools.

Your car will be towed if you park on the street. 

Volunteers will be around both buildings to direct traffic.
