Join us for a Neighborhood Chess Tournament at Providence Englewood, bringing together students from the Englewood community and surrounding neighborhoods for a day of competition, learning, and connection through chess.
This event is open to K–8 students and welcomes players of all experience levels. Whether you’re learning the game for the first time or already sharpening your tournament skills, this is a great opportunity to challenge yourself, meet other young players from the neighborhood, and enjoy a full day of chess.
Tournament Format
The tournament will consist of 5 rounds in a Swiss-style format, meaning every player will compete in multiple games throughout the day.
Games will begin without clocks. If a game lasts longer than 30 minutes, a clock will be introduced and the game will continue at Game 5 (G/5) to help keep rounds on schedule.
Awards
Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 players in each section.
Lunch will be provided for all participants.
