Join us for a Neighborhood Chess Tournament at Healthy Hood, bringing together students from Pilsen and Little Village for a day of competition, learning, and community.
This event is open to K–8 students and welcomes players of all experience levels. Whether you’re just learning the game or already competing in tournaments, this is a great opportunity to test your skills, meet other young players from the neighborhood, and enjoy a full day of chess.
Tournament Format
The tournament will consist of 5 rounds in a Swiss-style format, meaning every player will compete in multiple games throughout the day.
Games will begin without clocks. If a game lasts longer than 30 minutes, a clock will be introduced and the game will continue at Game 5 (G/5) to keep rounds moving smoothly.
Awards
Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 players in each section.
Lunch will be provided for all participants.
