All IHSA/IESA Chess Teams are welcome!
This tournament satisfies the IHSA requirement for a team tournament.
Initial pairings of each IHSA team will be seeded according to last year's final
standings at the State Tournament.

- Varsity (8 boards, 4 rounds, G/40;d5)
- Junior Varsity (6 boards, 4 rounds, G/40;d5)

- Individual HS Open NOT RATED (4 rounds, G/40;d5)
- Middle School Open US Chess RATED - Swiss Sys
- 8th grade (5 rounds, G/30;d5)
- 7th grade (5 rounds, G/30;d5)
- 6th grade (5 rounds, G/30;d5)
- K-5 Open US Chess RATED (5 rounds, G/30;d5)
- K-12 Grand Prix US Chess RATED (5 rounds, G/30;d5)

The organizer reserves the right to alter the format/sections based on attendance.
Playing Schedule
- Check-in/Registration: 8:00-8:45
- Round 1 will begin no later than 9:30 am, with subsequent rounds ASAP
Prizes
- Tope 3 HS Varsity Teams
- Top 3 HS players on each board 1-8
- Top 3 HS Junior Varsity Teams
- Top 5 HS individuals in the open division
- Top 3 MS Teams (top five individuals count toward the team score)
- Top 10 individuals in each 6th, 7th, 8th grade
- Top 10 K-5 individuals
- Grand Prix Top 5 individuals (provided by GPCF)
Tournament Entry Fees
- $7 if registered online by 1/09/2026 (max. $150 per school)
- Make Checks payable to Brimfield Chess
- ALL Payments will be collected at the door.
- No onsite registration ONLY Pre-registration
- No Online Entries will be accepted after 8 PM on January 9th. After 8 pm, the entries will be considered Door/On-site Registration.
- USCF membership required
- Memberships (1 year) will be available from the Greater Peoria Chess Foundation for $9 at the tournament, a maximum of $99 per school. GPCF will cover the cost of anyone over the 11 players. GPCF will cover the cost of any Peoria Public Schools students. Make membership checks payable to GPCF. Players registering without a membership should use 99999999 as their ID# when registering.
