2026 Sacramento Senior Chess Championship &

                                                         September 12-13, 2026

Place: Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 2224 Auburn Boulevard, Sacramento, CA.
 
Event & Schedule: 4 round swiss.  Sections:  Senior Open and Senior Reserve (U1700) for players age 50 and older (must be at least 50 years old on September 12, 2026), Master/Expert (2000+), Reserve (1500-1999), Challengers (U1500).  On-Site Registration: 9/20 – 9:00-9:45 am.  Rounds:  10 am & 3 pm both days

Time Controls:  G/90, 30 second increment.

Entry Fees: $124 mailed & postmarked by 9/13/2025, $144 postmarked after 9/13/2025 and on-site.  GMs and IMs free.  Entrants may play up one section (max 100 points) for $30.  

Prizes: Senior Open – 1st Place: $650 & Trophy, 2nd Place: $450, 1st U2000*: $300, 2nd U2000*: $250
             Senior Reserve – 1st Place: $650 & Trophy, 2nd Place: $450, 1st U1400*: $300, 2nd U1400*: $250
                                  Trophies for top age 60+, 65+, and 70+ (Combined sections). 
                   Unrated players ineligible for astrisked (*) prizes.  Senior Prize fund based on 40 entries.
             Master/Expert (2000+):  1st Place: $650   2nd Place: $450   3rd Place: $300   1st U2200*: $200
             Reserve (1500-1999):  1st Place: $650   2nd Place: $450   3rd Place: $300   1st U1750*: $200
             Challengers (u1500):  1st Place: $650   2nd Place: $450   3rd Place: $300   1st U1250*: $200
         Unrated players ineligible for asterisked (*) prizes.  Weekend Swiss #26 prize fund based on 60 entries.
