2024 Iowa Spring Open and RBO

4-SS(4 round Swiss System tournament)

When: 3/30/2024

Where: Iowa State University Memorial Union rooms 3560 and 3580(see section info for more details), 2229 Lincoln Way Ames, IA 50014

Parking: There is a parking garage connected to the Memorial Union which charges $20 for a day
pass. From here, enter the building and head to the third floor. There is free parking at the 500
Wallace Rd Garage near the Gerdin building on campus. From this garage, head down Wallace
Road towards Union Drive, then enter the memorial union and head to the third floor. On weekends,
parking is usually free on campus in areas designated as permit required from Monday – Friday.

Two sections: Open and RBO. RBO open to players rated U1250(under 1250).

Registration: Online at kingregistration.com before 3/30/2024, 8:00 AM - 9:25 AM onsite

Open:

Time Control: G/75;+5(Game in 75 minutes with a 5 second increment after each move)

Rounds: 9:30 AM, 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 7:00 PM

EF(Entry Fee): $20 before 3/23/2024, $25 after, $30 onsite. Players rated under 1050 may play up to the open for an additional $10.

Prizes: $500 b/30. $175 1st, $100 2nd, $75 3rd, and $50 to top Class A (players rated from 1800 to 1999) and Class B (players rated from 1600 to 1799), as well as top U1600. All prizes will be paid electronically!

RBO:

Time Control: G/25;d5(Game in 25 minutes with a 5 second delay before each move)

Rounds: 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 12:00 PM, ASAP

EF(Entry Fee): $10 before 3/23/2024, $15 after, $20 onsite.

Prizes: Trophies to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, top U1000, top U800, top U600, top U400, top U200, and top Unrated.

Student and Staff Discount: Prior to registration, email bratzchess@gmail.com with your USCF ID number as well as a photo of your ISUCard to receive a half-off coupon specific to your USCF ID that can be applied at checkout.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: USCF Swiss pairing rules and floor rules will be in effect. USCF ratings will be used for prize purposes. No electronic scoresheets!!! Spectators will be allowed in the playing hall. Players may spectate after their game is over. Boards and clocks will be provided for the RBO. Players in the open should bring their own boards and clocks as boards will not be provided. $11 scholastic memberships will be available onsite!
