2023 New Mexico K-12 State Championships

Format:

  • K-12; 4 Round Swiss; G/40d5; $20 Entry Fee
  • K-8; 4 Round Swiss; G/40d5; $20 Entry Fee
  • K-5; 4 Round Swiss; G/40d5; $20 Entry Fee
  • K-3; 4 Round Swiss; G/40d5; Free Entry Fee
  • K-1; 4 Round Swiss; G/40d5; Free Entry Fee

Prizes:

  • Trophies for 1st -3rd based on tiebreaks in each section. Positive score medals to all finishers with at least 2.5 points who do not receive a trophy.
  • Top finishing NM Resident in each section will be named the 2023 State Champion for that Section.
  • Team Trophy available in each section for the best performing team. Team score will be based on total score of the top 3 players of each team in each section. A team may be by school or organized and established chess club made of students from multiple schools.

Schedule:

  • Round 1: 10:30am
  • Round 2: 12:00pm
  • Round 3: 1:30pm
  • Round 4: 3:00pm
  • Onsite Registration from 9:45-10:15am, Saturday, April 1st
