I apologize, but due to a clerical error on Shawn's part, only the main torunament was submitted to be FIDE rated. The blitz section will be only rated by USChess. Refunds are available to anyone who has already registered.

A note about the weather

Greetings midwesterners. We are getting our lovely last breath of winter this weekend. Please stay safe. I  still intend to hold the tournament, if anyone needs to have their schedule adjusted, please contact me using the contact information at the bottom of this page. Both Open & Reserve (U1600) Sections

USCF Rated; FIDE Rated in Open & Blitz

TIME CONTROL

3-Day: 5 Round Swiss, Game 90 minutes + 30 second increment.

2-Day: Rounds 1 & 2 Game 60 min delay 5 sec, then merge round 3 with Game 90 +30.

Rated Beginner Open (U1000): 5 round swiss, G25; d5. Must be unrated or rated below 1000.

Saturday Night Blitz: 5 round Swiss, two games per round, Game 3 minutes delay 2 seconds.

1 day, 5 round swiss, G25, delay 5.

 

SCHEDULE

3-Day: Friday 7 pm; Saturday 10 am and 3:30 pm; Sunday, 9:30 am and 3:00 pm.

2-Day: Saturday 10 AM and 12:30 PM (not FIDE rated) then merge with the 3-day schedule.

RBO: Saturday, 10AM, 11AM, 12:30PM, 1:30PM, ASAP

Blitz: Saturday 8 pm, rounds ASAP

 

ENTRY FEE

Open: $75 if received before 2/25/26, $85 afterward, and $95 on-site. Players>1400 may play up for an additional $20 fee.

Reserve: $60 if received before 2/25/26, $65 afterward, and $75 on-site.

RBO: $25 until 2/25, $30 afterwards, $40 onsite.

Play-up Option: $20 extra to play up from Reserve (U1600) into the Open section (Rating must be > 1400).

On-Site Registration: Fri: 5 pm - 6:30 pm, Sat: 8:0 am - 9:30 am

Blitz: $20 prior or onsite.

 

PRIZES

Open ($1,170 b/29): 1st $500, 2nd $250 3rd $160. Class Prizes: U2000 and U1800, $130 each; Unrated players are not eligible for class prizes.

Reserve ($640 b/29): U1600: 1st-3rd $200-$160-$120. Class Prizes: U1400, U1200 $80 each.

Blitz: 75% of entry fees returned as prizes.

 

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

IASCA Membership: Required for Open Section in-state participants. This is a IASCA GP Qualifier! 

No round 5 byes.
