FORMAT & SCHEDULE: This event is played in three separate sections. Everyone plays four games, there is no elimination. Current US Chess Membership is required (you may join or renew your membership here). Organizers reserve the right to choose the highest of the published ratings for the purpose of section selection, pairings, and prizes.
Open and U1601 sections: limited to 72 players. The time Control is g/55 + 5 sec increment. Round Times: 10:00am, 1:00pm, 3:30pm, 6:00pm. Awards shortly after all games are done.
Scholastic U1100 section: limited to 32 players. The time control is G/25 + 5 second increment. Round Times: 10:00am, 12:00pm, 1:30pm, 3:00pm. Awards shortly after all games are done.

EQUIPMENT: Boards, sets and clocks are provided.
BYES: up to two 1/2-point byes are available if requested before the event begins
ENTRY FEE: Open and U1601 sections: Early EF is $60 if registered by September 22nd; Regular EF is $70 if registered by October 6th; Late EF is $80 if registered by 8:00am on October 10th. Scholastic U1100 section: $40 if registered by 8:00am on October 10th.

Refund Policy: If you register for the tournament and are unable to make it, please notify us at least two hours in advance of the start of round one. If this is done, then the IAC will refund your entry fee less the cost of online registration ($1) and payment processing ($0.30 + 2.9% of the entry fee).
