Advance registration only, no onsite entries.  Food concession onsite, cash only.  Sets provided, please bring clocks.  US Chess membership required for rated sections.
 
Site: Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, 2201 Fred Taylor Dr. Columbus, OH  43210 (OSU Campus).

Sections: (eligibility based on November US Chess ratings)
  • 2 Non-rated: Grades K-3, 4-6. Players with 10 or more rated games, or 25 or more prior tournament games (including non-rated), are not eligible.  May enter one section higher if needed to stay with team.
  • 3 Rated: K-12 Open, K-12 U900, K-12 U600. Including Unrated and provisionally rated players. US Chess membership required. 
 
Format: Rated Sections: 5 rounds G/30, d5.  Nonrated: 5 rounds G/20, d0. 
  • Pairings: No elimination, play all rounds. Rated sections Swiss; nonrated 1v2 by grade.
  • Clocks: Not provided. Required in rated sections, we strongly advise you bring one.  Not required in non-rated sections but may be used if both players agree.  Sets provided.
  • Byes: One ½-point bye any round if requested before round 2 is paired.
  • Notation: Required in Open, U900 & U600. Players in grades K-3 may be excused but lose the right to make certain claims.  Not required in nonrated sections.
 
Schedule: 9–9:30am self check in, 9:45am announcements.  10am round 1, subsequent rounds asap.  Awards as each section finishes, estimated times: nonrated 2-3pm, rated sections 4-5pm.
 
Awards: Trophies to top players in each section, participation medals to all others.  Trophies to top school teams each section (no club teams, top 3 scores count for team).
 
Entry Fee: $30 if postmarked or online by 10/28, $35 thereafter.  
 
Limited number of discounts available for low income families, email grant@neilley.com to request before registering.  Checks payable to Fellowship of the King Chess Club.  Refund for withdrawals less $5 administrative fee if requested by 11pm day before tournament, no refunds thereafter.
 
Entry Deadline: Entries must be received by Wednesday 11/2.

Team Rooms available on a first paid, first served basis, see separate request form.  $120 private, $90 semi-private; $50 refunded if room left in good order.
